Make your own! Very easy. Look at Cabela's website or catalog. I use a "Jerky Shooter", using very lean ground meat; beef, elk, venison, buffalo, etc. Looks like a caulking gun. I use an American Harvester food dehydrator to dry the jerky. Many many flavor kits out there, or try developing your own recipe! Much, much cheaper than buying jerky.
If you insist on commercial jerky, try Oregon Trails jerky. I believe they have a website. I'll look for their business card too. They have a booth at the Colorado State Fair every year about 2 spots away from ours. Some of the best jerky I have ever eaten. If you have a Mountain Man Nut and Fruit store or distributor nearby, try theirs too.
Originally posted by Stingray42 yea, i would be interested if anyone had any ideas of where to get bulk jerky, I love that stuff! Way to expensive by the pack tho!
yes.. making yur own is good.. dont taste too bad either! i don't like the "Oh Boy! Oberto" or something like that... i like "bridgeford" it is pretty good.. $3.97 a pack.. not too expensive... but the package amount isn't very generous!! so yeah, best price would be to make yur own!
beef jurly is very costy around here to about 4 bucks just for a little bag at mal-mart and higher anywhere else, but i also make my own, beer jerky and deer, and i also know are local butcher so he gives me a deal every now and then.
