I am putting a 302 motor into my 1965 F100 2 wheel drive truck with a 1967 integral power steering box. Also I have a front sway bar. I found a set of headers in a truck parts catalog, they list Headman headers but footnote that these will not fit on trucks with a front sway bar. Does anyone have experience with headers (any brand/type) that would fit my combination?
i would believe in shorty or block hugger headers would work, they would be above the sway bar, edelbrock, hedman, hooker, they all make shirty headers for a 302, and edelbrock amkes the block hugger headers for a 302, they should fit your truck.
Ford front sway bar's infront of crossmember & engine bay plus outside front frame rail "horns" on which bumpers bolt.
Headers bolt on heads and then go rearward inside engine bay, well behind front X Member, where do they interfere with the Anti Sway Bar ?
Also I recently removed headers from 460 in 66 F100 with a F250 Camper Special Anti Sway Bar. 385 series engine is sure a lot bigger, wider, deeper, longer than any Windsor, especially a 5.0L (302). THey weren't shorty style. They were inframe though and came no where near the anti sway bar.
I've seen headers interfere with Bendix P/S Boxes tho. . . . Do you have a P/N on those headers I can borrow? Or can you eMAil me the jobbers name so I could check it out further on GP.
HAPPY CHRISTMASS to ya!
