FX4 Question

I was just under my FX4 checking on the oil drip at the bell housing when it dawned on me that there is only a skid plate under the transfer case. Not the oil pan or transmission.

The FX4 is spose to come with skid plates. My window sticker says skid plates.

Is the transfer case skid plate what they mean my skid plates?

I will take a look at another one next time at the dealer but thought I would inquire on this board.

Funny you inquire..I'll do the same..As I recall all I have is one that protects the fuel tank..I'll do some checkin and get back to ya...and the dealer if need be..

I looked under my truck with the fx4 package and it has both (transfercase plate, fuel tank plate)

I looked again and there is a plate on the fuel tank as well.

The 2500HD that I use to have had skid plates on the oil pan and tranny as well.

FX4 Package

I believe the FX4 package includes skid plates for the transfer case and fuel tank only, and the branded Rancho shocks.

Thats all my '04 350 and '02 F250 4x4s had; in long-ago years, there were plates over the transmission. I think my '79 Bronco had skid plates for the front diff, oil pan/trans/xfer case and the center-mounted fuel tank.
