Reset computer after exhaust / engine mods?
Hello......quick question here.
I just changed my stock muffler to a Flowmaster 40 series with duals out the rear. I later plan on adding an air intake system too.
My question is, should I reset the computer after doing these mods, or not? I would think yes, but I'm not sure if its neccessary.
Also, how long does the battery have to be disconnected to do this?

I didn't reset it after the muffler change and have had no problems.

you should always reset the compuuter after any engine mod....just disconect the positive terminal for about 10min. then honk your horn to make sure all the power is gone. the bad thing is that youve got to preset all your radio stations again....

I wouldn't think so. But it wouldn't hurt. But if you're doing any mods that involve sensors (MAF) or chips it should not be reset because the mod is calibrated to read stock specifications. I believe I read it on the Granatelli Motor Sports site (Q&A section)and have had numerous e-mails w/ Jet technicians over this matter. Good luck!
