97-2000 F150 Axle Codes
Does anyone have the door axle codes for the 97-2000 F150?I`m going shopping for a used one in this year range and would like to know what I`m getting.Also,what size rearend did a 4x2 in the same year range come with?Is it a 8.8?Thanks

You can try here at the site in the tech article section. Or post when you find a truck you like. The rear size is partially dependent on the engine... but not always. 5.4's usually have a 9.75, the 4.6's and 4.2's probably will have an 8.8."
Rears that start with a letter are factory limited slip units.
