Mileages may vary depending on openness of roads in your area, and style of driving on the interstate, i.e. cruse control, or T/H or not, all those things.

1. Have you had any problems with your 6.0PSD
-Yes. Bad turbo actuator, leaky front crankshaft seal, smokey starts, occasional rough running.
>Have you had any reflashes?
-Yes, two.
>Has your performance improved after reflashes?
-Not that I can notice.
>what is your average MPG?
About 16mpg.
>What is your overall rating of your truck?
-I like the truck overall. Maybe a B-. I think you're asking more about the motor, though. I'd rate that a D+. It's disappointing. And I figure I have one of the good ones.
Our Company owns 12 F350 6 Litre trucks at this point and have owned as many as 16. We have had nothing but trouble with these trucks. Almost all being engine problems. As of Dec. 24 we had 7 of the 12 into differerent dealerships around the province for repairs, the most serious being a blown engine. That is the third repair in 6 weeks for that particular truck. We have a tremendous amount of diesel and mechanical background and although these are oilfield trucks they are not worked hard as all they carry is a constant static load of 800 pounds. We sold the first two we bought as they were in for repair more than we had them. It seems that about 6500 miles of relatively trouble free driving is all we can expect before more problems crop up. Here is a list of the problems we have encountered: Bad or no cold weather start, poor or rough idle, no power, will stop running altogether (computer reflashes have helped but I think Ford is on number 14 now), EGR Valves, ICP Sensors, wiring harness problems, fuel gelling problems, injector problems (with both the old and new injectors), no shift , no start, blown turbos when the injectors go bad, charge air cleaners obviously, and blown engines. We have a total of approximately 200,000 miles of experience with these trucks and we can't afford another mile. As soon as we can find buyers in the Spring when our work slows down we must look at a better vehicle. As far as we are concerned this is the worst diesel engine introduction we have ever seen and long for our old fleet of Cummins engines. If you haven't had problems, you will, trust me. We know that we will never trust Ford again.
The year of the trucks is 2003 with the manufacturers dates ranging from January 03 to July or August. The first problems started showing up almost immediately on the early production models. These trucks ended up on flat deck trucks as much as being driven.
