Fuel Millage
Things might not be as bad as they seem. You're probably getting winter fuel now, which has been formulated not to gel in the cold weather, and consequently, doesn't get as good mileage as in the summer. It's also possible that you're merely not getting the tank as full each time you fill it. After the pump shuts off, you can get quite a bit more fuel in, if you're patient. It's best to check your mileage over an extended period, to minimize the affect of not getting the tanks as full from one time to the next.
Like Quadzilla said, winter blend doesn't go as far, you may want to use a fuel additive like Stanadyne or PS Diesel Kleen. If you're like everyone else you like hearing the turbo spool up and that can cost you a little fuel, try keeping rpm's below 2000 and try for nice and easy take off's.
