i thought id share my adventure with you all, well my night started out bad tonight right after sun down at about 5:30 me and about 12 other guys thought we would hop on our snowmobiles and go to the nearest town 15 miles away to eat pizza. So we headed out about 2 miles out of town we hopped into a bean field nice anfd flat for 2 miles we all stopped and said last one to the end buys pizza, so we lined up and said go as we were going along i was about 3rd from the front fast as i could go speedo read 105 mph, as i was looking out front the first guy in line went flying into the air, he hit a driveway to the field the guy behind him also hit the driveway and flew over him and the first guys sled about 10 feet in the air well i was nexy no way i could stop at 100 mph so i hit it an also went flying by the time we all got stopped there was a 9 snowmobile pile up out of the 13 7 of the snowmobiles were totaled the other 2 had minor damage and the other 4 were fine, thankfully no one got hurt but it looked like a snowmobile junkyard beside the road my 5,000 snowmobile was in pieces there was even one snowmobile on the highway upside down that has been the worst snowmobile accident i have ever seen with no one getting hurt and everyone walking away from it, i think next time we will be more cautious and know whats ahead of us before we take off at 100 mph, i just thought id get that outta my system, my advice to you snowmobilers is be careful and scout your area before you ride at night.
Glad your ok.
I haven't ridden a snowmobile, but Id prob hurt myself first few times.
But if its anything like an ATV I'd be good
Sucks to loose your ATV
but atleast your still with us
i had 4 buddies wreck their sleds last week. 2 were totalled and bought by the insurance company. im glad i sold my sled, ive been running around in a t-shirt. not what a minnesota december should be.
yeah well hey we still did get the pizza but that was after we got the trailer and skid loader to get the wrecked sleds home, so we decided to take the vehicles there.
i have an ATV to, ive wrecked that thing endless times climbing gravel piles, mudding etc... even sunk it in the pit one time.... i guess when you have toys there always chances of wrecking.
well my 4 wheeler is in pieces right now i blew the rings this fall, its got more pop rivets in it than anything, the plastic is pretty well shot but it is an old one, 1989 honda 350 fourtrax 4x4 my dad bought it new and i inherited it a few years ago. only thing ever gone wrong was the rings going out recently and of course new tires and seet cover.
Sounds like my old 83 or 84 Moto 4 Yamaha 200
Ran it and ran it forever
Ran the original tires up until last year
Boy where they slick, I threw em on the back, roasted them and then got new ones.
yeah mine were so slick you could burn out on ashphalt in 4x4 and you would get stuck on a 10 degree inline on dirt to it was defintly time for new ones when i did get new ones i got the tractor style 4 wheeler tires now i dont think i can get stuck sure is a bumpy ride on hard ground tho.
i had a 340 john deere for a while till i got the one i have now 1993 700 wildcat i had that clocked at 115mph across an open lake oh radar bt as you read that is wrecked now and i will be getting a new one im thinking about a 1997 ZRT 800, after riding that wildcat i want something that has just as good as power and i can take it to the mountains but i sure will be a lot more careful with my new one.
My aunt was in a snow mobile accident about 20 years ago. She was the passenger on the back.It was night too. Well they hit one of those steel cables going across the road by a drainage ditch. The guy who was driving was decapitated and my aunt litterly was scalped. They sewed the top of her head back on. She looks pretty normal today unless she shows ya the scars under her hair line. Glad no body in your group was hurt. Be carful on those things. Night time is dangerous.
yeah i know they are dangerouse there were 4 kids killed on 2 sleds last week here in iowa, they were corssing a road below a hill and a truck ran into them they were all 4 dead within 4 days, it was terrible, there seems to be a lot of accidents on them but what do you expect for something goes 100moh with no protection but a helmet, im glad no one was hurt in my group it was acyually amazin cuz the sleds were totaled most people jumped off before they hit it, as well as i did.
the sleds like quads only get faster and faster each year without much government regulation. I wonder when they will step in and slow the the beasts down. Its not what i want but it might happen someday.
