guess what boys and girls..... i have taken a ride in a truck that had been lifted with the cool guy lift kit.... and i can now call my self an expert and let you know the REAL deal!!
the ride was NOT noticeably different to me then my truck with a 8" fabtech kit and rancho 9000 shocks.
the cool guy kit owner took a ride in my truck and could notice NO difference in ride quality what so ever.
I'd like to know what you did to get the 9000's to work out. I fiddled with them until I got tired of sliding under the truck, never did find a setting that made me happy on a measly 4-inch lift.
i'll look for you on my settings... but i think i run 2 on the front and 1 one the back and it worksd out ok.... i usually have some weight in the back tho (sandbags or such)
i do think the bils might be a better shock tho...
love shack.... no way... i never had any dear blinds (aka love shack) near me.... remember, i live in the city!!
anyhow... yes, felt the quake real good (and i live about 200 miles from the quake).... a minutes worth of heavy rolling, enough to make me a tad sick feeling (damn motion sickness).... been a few aftershocks that were strong enough to feel. lucky it hit in the middle of nowhere as theis quake was a 6.5 (slightly smaller than the Loma Prieta and Northridge quakes that causes so much damage (the latter was the most costly natural desaster ever running in the billions)).
Hey abendx... by cool guy you mean EDGE?? just for clarification.... Dang, ive always been with you, you know that! .... that all springs are PRETTY MUCH equal(none riding $2500 dollars better than another set).. But i too never rode in an EDge system yet.. ( i have ridin in14" and 22" Nationals).....But for you to say you AND the other guy couldnt tell much differnt.. well i feel real good about my $650 per set ATLAS 12" springs now! thanks!

funny thing was i figured he had it made on me.... half the height in his springs and the bil shocks..... but really, the ride quality was very similar!
Well, this is how i look at it. If you pay 2,500 dolars for a moderatly size lift, then when you drive it you will be a little bias towards feeling that stock ride or whatever. Whether it is that nice or not.
Whether the edge is as good as some say i don't know, i have no experience with them. I do know however that if the lifts like SL and Skyjacker and Fabtech were not good, these companies would not be where they are today.
All i know is that i am extremely happy with my superlift lift, and am even happier with all that extra cash in my pocket! Well it should be in my pocket, but seeing that it is christmas time.. yada yada
Hey 02Super.. ATLAS will custom make whatever you need for CHEAP... when i put in the order for my rears... i told them i wanted 12" lift, 1 Ton capable springs, that wouldnt sag more than 4" under 1500lbs of gear in truck and 10,000lbs of trailer..... Well took 3 weeks to get here.. cost was $700 for the rear two, $125 shipping... so $825 for the rear setup to my door........ The springs have been awsome.. As for ride, they ride the same as my 8" skyjacker on 7" blocks did.....The only problem i had is they saged 1.5" after towing that load posted above, across the country and back..6k miles.. So i had to put the stock 2" block back under them.. All in all Very happy.. National wanted $2000, w/o shipin for the same set(well there advertised 12" lift, i dont know about tow capacity)

well said.... and the fact that most likely 80 to 90 percent or more of the happy 'cool guy' lift kit owners were/are actually the spam king himself.
