I went to the stealer to buy a new pick up, wife and I drove the '04 SCab 4x2 5.4L, Lariat package. It was a very nice truck, but when faced with the dollar difference between my existing truck and the '04....there was just not enough differenece in the trucks to spend the money. Current truck is '98 F-150 XLT, 4.6 4x2 SCab. 143,500.0 miles trouble free. I did put a Diablo chip in it about 50,000 ago, along with a Gibson cat back single exhaust. Put a KN filter in it when it was about a week old. The chip sucks, no appreciable difference, the exhaust I am sure helps, but it is still "just" a 4.6L V8, and no punch at all. I have not been able to find perfromance parts for this engine.... I am sure I have not looked in the right places. Help!!! I decided to spend up to 5 grand on the motor and interior, to make it a "new" truck, and just keep it forever. Thanks for your help.
