Skyjacker 2" axel pivot brackets

I just bought a set of skyjacker 2" axle pivot brackets. The directions say the weld the passenger side one on. I don't really want to weld it. Has anyone else ever installed these without welding? Any problems?

What kind of truck? On my F-150, when I had the TTB, I had a set of the center drop brackets. The directions that I had said to drill out the rivets on the stock brackets and replace with the new brackets and grade 8 bolts. I don't see why you would need to weld the new brackets on if they fit in the stock locations.

Again, I wouldn't think they should be welded to the crossmember, but every manufacturer is different. Take a look to make sure that they mount up like the stock brackets. You should be able to utilize the existing holes, and may actually have to drill a few new ones in either the bracket or the crossmember for support. Then bolt it all together using grade 8 stuff, should be just fine.

they are talking about the i-beam drop bracket for the passenger side beam.....you use the stock bolt hole, and you have to drill 2 ne wholes in the crossmember.....syjacker recomends running a bead between the bracket and crossmember for extra strength
