Replacing Transfercase
I tried everything else so now it is time to replace the transfer case. I have ordered a used BW 1356 that is gauranteed to work. But I have never done this repair before and I was wondering if anybody who had done a transfer case before had any pointers or helpful hints. It's an electric shift BW 1356 on a 94 Bronco with an automatic E4OD and a 5.0. I have the Haines manual and feel confident, I just figured you guys know alot more about it than I do. Any help would be great! Thanks.

Haynes isn't the greatest, but should be sufficient to do this. You should start by inspecting the new one before you disconnect anything to make sure the electrical connectors are right, no obvious damage, etc. Carefully disconnect the electric. Take out your driveshafts, and remove the 6 bolts on the front side that hold the transfer case to the tranny. Take it out and put the new one in. You may want a buddy for the lifting part.
