On my 02 F-350,4X2 just to the right of the steering column on the dashboard about level with the pullout cup holder is a dummy cover that fills a cutout in the dash, it is just about a fingers length from the inside of the fuse access panels right side. I am just wondering what ford installed there, what kind of switch, I am installing some Hella fog lamps and looking for a spot to mount the switch, most rocker switches are square bodied & this cutout is oval.trying to figure what ford has in switches to fit there..my ford parts guy says he has no breakdown on the film?....i guess i could always file it square if i had to....I want my fog lamps to work on their own without headlamps, this is why I am taking this route

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Nov-02 AT 03:17 PM (EST)]You're absolutely correct, Jade. That's the power pedal adjust. The ESOF is located above it, to the left of the heat/AC controls. Next to the ESOF is the reverse sensor cut-off. Check out the last pic on my gallery; I just took one of my interior for ya'. I have all the gadgets mentioned except for the power pedal adjust -- you'll see it as the "missing" switch in the exact location you described (one of the 3 options Ford had availabe in 2002 F-250's that I didn't get). The switch that would go there looks alot like a power window switch, but on a somewhat miniaturized version. My dad's '03 Expedition has it, and I can take a pic if you need.

Harout, great photo of the dash layout, (nice flower), I was confused and talking about the entire "rectangular" dash panel itself. I need to read more carefully.
My question is, what is on the other side of the 3.5" X 4.5"panel when you have neither 4WD or adjustable pedals?
I want to fill it up with my backup and running light toggles, but don't want to mess up something hidden behind the dash.

It's probably a safe assumption that because you don't have any factory switches & electronics there, all you have behind the dash is some dead air. Heck, Ford would've needed some room to put in the ESOF, Reverse Sensor Disable, etc. == so if you don't have those options, then fill up the dead space with your own gizmos! I haven't had to take my dash off yet, but I think this is a safe assumption. Try taking the fuse panel off and look up there.
I put a rocker switch in there for my Hellas.... Its open behind there but I gotta tell ya, its a getting your hand inside there to do the wiring. I used the switch cover plate, traced it out and then used a dremel tool and cut just to the inside of the line. It worked really well.....
