200Ft speed pit, we also have a 150Ft "Hell Hole" bog pit, which starts with a 6ft drop into the pit from a standing start. I dont remember what time's Tom's truck (the build I posted) has made it thru in, but my 78 Bronc with a un-rebuilt 460, same cam as his, and a Holley 650 Double-pumper (I know, waaaay to small a carb) will run it in 10secs provided I dont break an axle shaft, next fastest truck is usually in the 13-14 second range in the HH. Of course the HH is not made for speed, but to actually try and bury the truck, most guys pull down the drop and then hammer it. I go gonzo from the start which results in some serious air time, broken parts every now and then, and a ride that is usually like this.
how bout this. We launch at 800 rpm, and within about half a second, were sittin pretty at right around 6000 rpm. We try a higher launch, it spins, we try a lower launch, it spins. Oh well, it sure is fun anyway.
