So what do you think the odds are of Ford offering the Larait in silver or dark grey for the 2005 model? Or maybe a power passenger seat in the FX4 next year?
I just can't bring myself to be satisfied with Arizona beige and I can't believe I will pay $30K+ plus for a vehicle without 2 power seats. Ideally, I would like heated seats too (in the FX4), but damn.... no power?
I too would like to see the lariat in DSG and a Flareside. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my 04 FX4 Flasreside scab, DGS and pretty much every option they had to offer as we speak. To say I would be saddened to see them off two options I prefer the year after I purchase would be an unxerstatement, but such is life. I agree with another post in that the FX4 power seat option should extend to the passenger seat and make available the heated seats as well!!
I would like to see Ford pull out the stops and lay the power arguement to rest. They could easily add another 100 horses as an option that would be easily done with the 5.4. They also need to add a 5 speed automatic (I thought that they were going to add that to the new design) to help compensate for the added weight of the new design. Having had the 5 speed auto in my Explorer with the V6 was proof to me that it really adds to performance. Some more chrome would be nice, or some nice looking bodyside molding, and possibly a few more lines that would increase the strenghth of the flat sides that they have now. Tilt and telescopic wheel would be nice. Dual zone climate control, heated rear seats. Better fit and finish on the interior would be nice as well. I notice on the new door panels, from the outiside looking in, right near the door lock **** the plastic doesn't have a finished look to it. The seats could be more comfortable as well. I read the reports and this was one of the complaints that all of the testers had. I also believe that a Lariat package should have most, if not all of the bells and whistles as standard equipment. They need to make the addition of a fuel efficient diesel as an option so that they could get the fuel ecomomy into the 20's. And most of all, they need to get the price down. I looked at a new SuperCrew 4X4 that had a sticker price of $40,210.00. That is ridiculous. Just my 2 cents though.
I bought a new 03 FX4 in May and I love it. I love it because it is a Truck. It handles like a truck and is built to be used as a truck. I did not buy it for Heated and power seats. Everyone in my family has chevys with these options and I will tell you that these options soften a person up. My dad used to have Broncos and would drive through anything and now he is worried about getting his truck dirty. If you want something that will take you anywhere buy a Ford. If you want options buy a Chevy!

Who pulled your string? The title of the post is 2005 changes and what we would like to see as changes. Your opinion that having creature comforts softens you up is ludicrous. From your post I guess we can assume that a vinyl bench seat, no air conditioning and no power steering is the truck of choice for you. That is great, you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that. Smart remarks about my comments will be answered as such. As for the truck I drive, I don't need you to tell me what brand I should get. You will notice that Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan all offer creature comforts. These creature comforts are there because that is what people want. If we didn''t we would resort back to the old days of the vinyl bench seat and such. Have a nice day.

That would be a great deal. I used to run John Deere Heavy Equipment and from my experience they are tops. The ones we used were easy to turn up as well. Thanks for the info.
