The dealer I bought my truck from (about 20miles away) just replaced my tourqe shift's valve body. I had a clunk when starting out. I thought it was the lube on the driveshaft spline.

Anyway, the day after I get it back I figure I better check the fluids cause I am getting ready to take a 2000+ mile trip (I bought AAA). I found the tranny to be low on fluid. The fluid barely touches the dip stick. Anyway, I can't find the fluid anywhere. I went to a dealer closer to home. They don't have it (go figure). They tried to sell me the stuff for the other tranny (non SP). I have also looked at Wal Mart, and a couple of auto parts stores. I am trying to avoid driving 20 miles to the other dealer.

What is everyone else using and where did you get it?

 

Don't understand, If you just had it at the dealer to do the valve body why don't you hold them responsible for the fluid, they would have to have it if they did the repair and if they do not they probably used the non SP to get you out the door either way after you remove your foot from the Dealers **** then ensure they are adding the correct fluid.

 

Because of the busy holidays and trying to get ready for my driving vacation I was trying to avoid the 20 mile drive back to the dealer that did the work. I found that the oil was low on Friday evening. I went to four stores to find it but no luck. Saturday morning I went to the Ford dealer near my house and they did not have it. Sunday the dealers parts dept. are closed.

I am spose to leave on my trip Monday morning. I guess I will have to take a detour on the way out of town and go to the dealer that is 20 miles in the opposite direction. I did check the reciept and they have the SP fluid listed as what they put in the tranny.

I am just a little suprised that the tranny fluid is so hard to find! I guess I will buy a case of it when I find it!
