Question about tire chains
Just wondering what options are available for tire chains? I was hoping there was somesort of chain system available that wouldn't damage the factory mags that are on my F250. I didn't want to have to buy a set of steel wheels . What do ya'll recomend?

Mine is an FX4.Check my gallery pics! A friend of mine that lives up in the N.C. mountains , Has an older 4X4 chevy that's beat all to pieces. I've known him to put chains just on the front tires when it gets real bad up there. He likes to bragg about pulling $40,000 trucks out of ditches with his old clunker. Needless to say, I was just being curious about what the options were. Around my neck of the woods(foothills of S.C.), It would be rare to need chains, But I would love to pull up at my buddy's house one snowy day, And tell him I was there to pull him out of his driveway! I just don't think I would like the looks of my truck with steel wheels.

Make sure the chains are sized correctly and they are installed correctly. That means that they are tight and retighted after driving a few minutes. Then, keep good tensioners on the chains also. More potential damage can occur to the body than to your wheels. If the chains break a crosslink, repair or beat the truck to death.
As far a 25 Carolyna is concerned, get into snow country, 4x4 and chains are used, and the roads are still impassable. Then you just get skiis or a snowmobile.
