Grill blanket/ insert?

I've seen other trucks with a blanket or fabric insert for the grill to keep the cold winter wind and snow from blowing in and cooling the motor off real quick. Is there such a thing or am I stuck straping a piece of cardboard to the front, yuck.

you shouldn't need it or it would have come with the truck.

We use "cold fronts" up here in Alaska, they are plastic inserts for the grill - seem to be working well as it stays warm while driving in -40. Not sure you would need those in Arizona?

turbo motor runs really hot and you won't need a winter front unless your in -40. If your cab heater is giving you enough heat thats a good indication that its running hot enough. I never seem to have to turn my heat switch past straight up or I get to much heat. Running in Northern Minnesota. Tommorows high is expected to reach 10 above. plenty warm yet not to have a winter front.

ok good info. by the way I live in northern arizona at around 7000 and we get snow and it can be lots. The reason I was looking for one was because it gets windy here and the air temp some times dips to the single digits. when it did the other week I was forced to park outside with the nose of the truck facing the wind and the engine cooled off real quick.

Just my $0.02, but the only thing you want to cover is the radaitor, but not anything else, air going in is a good thing, the more air the aftercooler and trans. cooler get, the better, if you want to warm it up faster, I would cut out card board just around the radiator ONLY, but I would watch the gauge closely just to make sure it would not get hot, and I would only due this in the winter months, also make sure your pluging it in for a lot quicker heat, and make sure that the high idle is activating. I would paint the cardboard black, so it's not noticable thru the grill. this should work-look good and not cost a thing, as a side note, I love the way the lund stainless winter grill inserts look, I even see people run these in the summer, and they say the truck still runs cool, I just like the fact of knowing that the air box-trans.-radiator-aftercooler-etc. is getting the most air possible, the cooler the air charge the more power (boost) Just my $0.02

I purchased a black weather front from Cabelas at their Owatonna, MN store for about $40. I havn't put ti on yet, but it sounds as if it is easy to put on and remove.
