Dana 50 front, Sterling 10.5 rear, I found that spicer is the best bet for after market gears. Depending on what ratio you are looking for, some manufactures don't make them for our apps.
If you are looking for gears try Drivetrain Direct. They advertise in petersons 4 Wheel and Off-Road magazine every month. They have new super duty kits, front and rear ring and pinions, plus master install kits for $599. They list 4.88 and 5.13 as the ratios available. You can also find 4.56 gears. I want to go with the 4.88's and this is the best deal I have found. Now I need to find someone qualified to do a Sterling rear setup in the Denver area. Good luck with yours!
Oh, I know all SRW trucks had the Dana 50 until 2002. If your F-450 is a dualie it probably has the Dana 60.

Yeah at first I thought you might have taken to the diesel fumes!!
OK. I had a 97 F350 Crew cab diesel 4x4 and it gad the Dana 60 front end. The new truck (F450 4x4) has a bigger heavier front end than the old truck. Did Dana build 2 versions of the 60??
I *think* there are actually at least two versions of the D60 front. I know throughout the years they have different ring gear sizes, so perhaps that is the difference?

I have an old style and a new style F-350,4x4,SRW.I haven't paid a lot of attention to axle differences.I did observe two obvious differences.
1.The steering linkage is larger on the newer truck.
2.The hub locks (manual) are also different.
