In response to the original question. I don't know, but the best way to find out is to get your 88 bronco on a truck scale. You can find them in the phone book or at your local rock quary or landfill. It shouldn't cost more than $5 or $10 to get yer truck weighed.
As for the trivia question; I will guess that the 83 Bronco weighs 4,820lbs(minus the driver) and 5,020lbs(with the driver). I did not see a mention if you had it weighed while you were in it or not?
