I went to Autozone today and had them read the codes because the CEL came on. The code came up as a P0171. Mixture to lean. They said that the O2 sensor was out. I was wondering how much it costs replace this, if I can do it myself and how to do it. Thanks for any help.
Just replaced OX2 sensors on my 97. There is an upstream one and a downstream one. The upstream (before cat) is more expensive I believe it was near $100 and the downstream was around $70.
My O2 sensor for my 97 only cost $40. Guess I shop at the wrong places. You can try it but I don't give it high chances of solving the problem since that isn't really a sensor code.
