I was wondering if anyone knows or has a link to where I can find information on how to remove my center console from the 60/40 bench seat. As I'm sure a lot of you have found they break or as in my case just the latch broke but now it serves no purpose since I have to tie it shut. I took off the little plastic piece that accesses you to the bracket but I can't see in there to see what tool to use to remove it.
I had the same problem, as I'm sure many have. This happened a few years ago, so I'll describe as best as I can.
There is a large torx screw that holds the console to the drivers seat. I think I used a large allen wrench to take it off. I could not get the part to fix my console, and couldn't justify $150 for a new one, so I have had a nice size hole between seats. Good place to lose stuff! Hope this helps. If you need pics, let me know and I will do my best to post, or email them to you.
I've taken the arm rest off of my '95 ranger with a T50 torx ratchet bit. It also words for taking out the bucket seats (on the ext. cab) and the door latch posts. You should be able to find it at any major autoparts store.
