engine keeps going
'85 f150 4x4 1bbl carb. I have had problems lately with my truck not shutting off. I turn off the ignition and the engine keeps going, as if its getting fuel. After it has run for a while, this will last for ten seconds and end in a high pitch squeal. My uncle called it Diesel - docking. im not sure what it means, but he had me put it in 4th gear and let the clutch out as i turned it off. This has stopped it from doing it, but i really would like to know whats wrong. Let me know if you have any ideas.
