I finally installed my leveling kit, the Jackit 2.5" with the optional add-a-leaf in the rear. It was all Tuffcountry stuff, front leaves and rear. I did the front alone with floor jacks and jackstands, but in a well equipped shop with air. Took about 6 1/2 hrs. for the front and 2 for the rear with a friend. The key was having plenty of C clamps to compress the leaves. Plus I finally got to put my Snap-On IM6100 to the test, had to un-muffle it to get a few bolts out, and it torqued the u-bolt nuts to 120 ft. lbs. easy. All in all it was pretty easy, track bar even lined up perfect.
The front is up abut 3" at the moment, and the rear 2". I had the factory 4" blocks but wanted the same rake as before. So far the ride is excellent with the front RS9000's at 2, had them at 3 with the factory leafs only. The rear is a tad stiffer but tolerable with the rears at 1. Had to do the lift early to fit a long term project in so I put the 285's back on for now. It looks tough, and you can definately feel the altitude change! I'll probably get another 1" with the 315/70/17"s, and alot better tire. Only bad thing is that I have given myself a case of liftimus maximus, it will probably be too small in a few months! At least I have an excuse to post some pics now.
Thanks for the answers to my lift questions guys, and all the info gleaned from previous posts. It definately prepared me for the lift. I even had to log on after it was done to look up a post about re-centering the steering wheel, which was extremely easy after I reassured myself from the answers. Props to the FTE.
