if i put an aftermarket fully manual valve body in a c4 what kind of shifter would i use. i think this will make the tranny shift when you push the shifter up at any rpm. how does this actually work and is it a good buy.
I just had a reverse pattern manual valve body installed on my C6 in my Bronco.Like it said it's manual you alway's have to shift,up thruogh the gear's or down and it will shift at any rpm.Rite now I'm using the column shifter but I'm going to install a B&M mega shifter. You also should know most manual valve bodies do not have band assist for 1st gear. What this mean's is you will have no compression braking in 1st gear,so if you let off the gas in 1st it's like you put the tranny in nuetral.A word of caution when in 1st gear and you stand on it then get off the gas don't stand on the gas again you can break the sprag in the tranny. It almost like doing a neutral drop. You can see the particular's on my tranny on this site. http://www.superford.org/?vID=4037
i think i might get that one of these days for the t bird. that shifter you mentioned, is it specifically made to slap up and down or is it like my starshifter.
can i put a c4 manual valve body into a c5 since they are about the same. there is a member on this site that says in his signiture that he has a c5 with a c4 valve body in it.
is there any downsides to this manual valve body. does this mean i don't have to get a 2400 stall. can i just rev the motor up to my recomended rpms and slap it into 1st from N or will this break something
