Waxy, I can't name a single politician from your country. But I can name most if not all provinces.
Ontario
Yukon
British Columbia
Quebec
Saskatchewan
Alberta

I'm sure I missed a couple now that I think about it. I know you have a handful of territories. Newfoundland, NewBrunswick (I think) Edwards island.

Well I may be ridiculed by some but I'll tip my hat to Canada.

You missed a few 13hondacr250, but that's OK, you seem to like Canada and proved Waxy's point. If you didn't like Canada you'ld have only named two..

If you look back on history at the conflicts the US has been involved with, Canada has sent help. Not so much in the form of money, but real people. Kind of like, "Here, we want to help. Put our troops under US control and we'll show you what we can do!" In world war II that meant the US sent the Canadians on the assault missions with little hope. In more resent conflicts we've shot them up with friendly fire. Halifax was half blown up, because the US needed a munitions port. For a place with the population of California, they've given quite a bit. They don't complain much about that. I respect them for it.

They have a lot of natural resources and more just keep popping up. I wouldn't mind having a huge diamond mine! Again, if you look at history, the US has had the chance to, "have," parts of what is now Canada, but we didn't want it. If I go to a garage sale and pass up some piece of junk, can I blame the guy that bought the $1000 artwork for 50 cents?

I'll use a seasonal analogy: For Christmas, some people like to give hand crafted toy boxes that they spend hours building. Others throw a buck in a card and mail it off. Both are real gifts and should be appreciated. IMHO, Canadians build toy boxes and the US sends cash.

I see the only problem Canadians having is that they strive to be more like the US; however, they don't realize that they've already achieved what the US has talked themselves into thinking they have.

If Canadians are proud, I think they've earned it.

Pretty good.

From West to East (the way I like to think of Canada)

British Columbia
Alberta
Saskatchewan
Manitoba
Ontario
Quebec
New Brunswick
Nova Scotia
Newfoundland
Prince Edward Island

and

three territories

Yukon Territory
Northwest Territories (includes all the islands in the Arctic ocean)
Nunavut - newly formed Inuit and Indigenous people's territory.

Of course, being in Alaska, you're a little closer to the action.

Howdy, thanks for that reply.

Our canadian neighbors

I live 5 miles from canada in northern maine so i interact with them on a regular basis.they are some of the nicest people you could ever meet ahd dont deserve to be included in the same catagory as the french and germans. They seem to be more of a passive culture, not quick to fight but not backing down from one either.we picked this war in iraq. the french , germans.and russians had different reasons for not helping out. i believe the canadians had different reasons for abstaining.BTW as well as canadian bacon you ought to try their bolony. Where would NASCAR be without red green?

Canadian bacon is a misnomer up here above the 49th. My fellow patriots to the west call it back bacon, to the east its called peamale bacon. Anyway, it sure tastes better than moose ***** and eggs.

Hey Waxy, the reason people are bashing Canada is because it is the "in" thing to do at the moment. Me personally I like Canada because they have helped with Iraq, not in the beginning but later with money. This contract thing almost @#$%#ed it up but Bush fixed that so it would still happen.

My hats off to the Canadians
