Gas Guage?

I just got a 99 ranger with the tach instrument cluster. I was wondering if there is a low fuel light. If there is about how much gas is in the reserve. I can read the gas guage but i was just wondering.

Not sure on the 99, but on mine it has a check guage light when the gas is low, engine hot or oil pressure low. I think yours should have one too. It should light up for a few seconds when you turn on the key. If it is there, then it will light up when the fuel guage gets pretty low. I never have the nerve to try mine to see when it comes on. If you do, take a couple gallons of gas and some tools.

if i ran out of gas what would be the consequence, burnt Fuel pump? but like you im not willing to see.
