air filter
I was looking for a rattle on my 6.0L and decided to take apart the air filter and check below it for anything loose. What I found was by far the most difficult and mindless engineering design I've come across so far. One would think that the filter should just lift out straight up, but it doesn't . The lower tabs on the filter box keep it from coming straight up. You have to spread the ends apart and wiggle, spread, cuss and fuss and finally it will come out. It also helps if you have a friend to pull the ends apart, and he can help cuss and fuss too! I downloaded the 3 page info sheet that I found on the filter and it helped but I wasn't totally prepared for this amount of hassle. QUESTION- does anyone have any idea when the filter needs to be changed, mileage wise? Or do you just go by the air indicator guage on the box and change it when the indicator tells you?
