FW-16. It prevents caviation which is little holes in the cylinder walls caused from little bubbles that form and then collapse from the vibration of the engine. The additive creates a "barrier" between the bubble and the cylinder wall so that when it collapses, it does so onto the "barrier" instead of the wall itself. Caviation is more common among the older 7.3s than the 6.9s and I think almost non exsistent among powerstrokes, but it is my understanding that any diesel or gas engine can fall victim to it. Its cheap and easy and sure beats replacing the motor.
