Last week my 2002 f350 would not start and finally after going thru different posts, i read about the high pressure oil pump housing may not have oil in it, and if so the the engine wouldn't start. I checked and there was only a small amount of oil in it. I filled it with oil and it started. My question is, why does it lost oil, is there a gasket or something I should check?
Was your engine hot or cold when it would not start?
If it was hot, then the IPR o-rings are bad.
If it was cold, then i think the only way for oil to leak out of the res. is throught the checkball inside that lets oil back into the engine. I removed my c/v's from the supply lines to the heads to allow more flow and oil has never leaked down through there.
