There's a decoder in the 1998 tech articles.

Welcome to FTE!

You could have just posted it with your question.

It would have been decoded by now.

Without having the info it's tough.

I'll take shot at it without you telling me.

The vin is f10glbj4083 Now if i looked this up right, it is a 2wd. Well there is clear evidence that it is a 4x4, and everything is rusted together pretty good, but still could be a conversion, or maybe a different vin than what the truck originally had. Is there any odd place for the vin which peole would not normally change? Like a tag somewhere?

there should be a tag on the firewall, one on the drivers door, and it's stamped on the passengers side frame rail between the rear cab mount, and the spring tower.

You didn't mention engine.

G is a 302.

The L is for Michigan Truck Plant

Is the intake manifold a wet or dry one ?

See where the thermostat housing attaches.
To the block 351M
To the intake 302.

It has a 390 in it, It has a wet manifold. I have a edelbrock street master intake on it, i think that was one of my best investments for the pickup.

It sounds like one of those Johnny Cash Caddy's. A bunch of different years all rolled into one.
