Does anyone know anything good or bad about the AWD and Quadrasteer systems and how they're working out so far?
It's an awful pricey rig but I like the idea of and AWD pickup.

I haven't really seen anything on them but the price tag. I don't care much for the clearance lights they put on them though....even though it is a pretty sweet little truck. Quadrasteer scares me though. I gave up my forklift driving days....I don't want my rear wheels turning on me.

My friend has quadrasteer and says its amazing when your towing and when your not. In an ad it says it has tighter turning than a lamborghini. my friend hasnt had any problems so far but its a new truck.

i've seen a chevy with that system running 35s for some tests. seemed to hold fine. i think it was an issue from mid year this year in petersons 4 weel n off-road. i think its a nice feature but no pratical for everyone.

IMHO I don't think the Quadrasteer is going to go over too well. I have only seen ONE person with it in my city so far. Most people can't even keep a front-end alignment; how are they gonna keep a four wheel alignment! Just silly in my opinion. If you can't back up a trailer then you shouldn't be driving with a trailer on the back!

I think it is also for driving with a trailer. No whiplash when changing lanes.
Not too many have it, I think, mainly due to it's rather steep price tag coupled with the fact that it is only available on premium vehicles.

Forget the Quadrasteer...the Denali packs a 325HP punch from the 6.0! I'll be the Lightning ain't dirt cheap either.
As for the Quadrasteer, if people like it and it sells, it'll start getting cheaper. If so, you can bet Furd will come out with their version. Heck, they're already working on their version of "On-Star". By the way...do they offer "it" yet?

I don't think you can get a front bench which would be a problem for me. That and it's supercab not crew but I've not sat in the back of any GMC sc. Looks OK on their website though.
Oh Ya and the price.

with the quadrasteer, at high speeds do the rear wheels turn in phase or out of phase with the fronts?I know they are out of phase at low speeds, which would seem to make parking easier.

Keep in mind where they got the idea from.
This came from Bigfoot's website.
"Bigfoot #1 was first introduced with the famous rear steering in 1979."
So technically, it was first done on a Ford Truck, just the idea never caught on with Ford, its not really practical for every day use. Now, for tractors, yes, but trucks, no. Imagine if the servo for the rearend goes out--hope you got a roll cage in that Quadrasteer!!! If you can't drive with 2 wheel steering, what makes you think 4 wheel steering will make your driving any better??
