I'm having a severe problem with the inside of my Bronco fogging up. I've also noticed the smell of coolant. I'm thinking the heater core is leaking. Anyone ever changed one? How hard? It looks kind of simple in the book, but that's in the book.
dude, its so easy you can do it in the parking lot of the auto parts store. but save your self the trouble and get a Ford one. the 40$one i got busted out in about a year when the stock one lasted 12 years. so, all you gotta do is undo all the 6 or 8 8mm hex screws hiding the heater core. before you do that you gotta take the glove box out. i dont remember exactly how, but i remember its easy. then the heater core is only held in by the 2 hoses going through the firewall just to the left side of the engine. undo these 2 hose clamps and the heater core should pull right out. with alittle bit of finessing. try not to pour the rest of the antifreeze onto the floor.(learn from my mistakes)then just through the new core in and some more coolent and your all set. any questions i'll help the best i can. but i've dont the job 2ce recently on my 89 so i know pretty much every step of the job. -good luck-
check e-bay man.
I found a heater core for my brothers 92 ranger for like, 15 bucks. I did'nt get it tho, at the time we were'nt sure if we were gonna sell the truck or not.
