I'll try to be brief, if possible. Bought an 01' F350 7.3l. The engine didn't run, but couldn't pass up the price. Ran all the tests I could (I didn't have much experience w/diesels, but I do now) there were to many codes to list. Compression test showed 300psi and I had read that it should be 500 to 600psi, so here I go tearing the motor apart. I replaced the rings and had the heads done. Got all done, still wouldn't start. I used the Star Tester to monitor the oil pressure and noticed it wasn't building much. With my vast knowledge of diesels I took the high pressure oil pump apart and the ck ball came out. After fixing that it started, but it took a long time and ran bad. After driving it many miles and replacing 4 injectors it runs better, but takes about 5 seconds or so to start. All codes are gone, except a wastegate code. Does anyone have any suggestions?
