How long after??

You change the heater core does the smell go away, I cleaned the carpets and the housing, but I still noticed a little steam and odor. I figured and HOPE it is just residual and will get better and better.
thx Diego

That antifreeze odor is all thru the ducts also. It will be around a long time unless you do some more cleaning. Did you remove the carpet to clean it with lots of hot water etc and replace the pads?

I cleaned it well, but did not remove the pads, I think I caught it right away, the carpet was damp but not wet. I did not see any steam this morning on the way to work.
