Wondering if anyone out there knows where one can get a set of stock 1.76 adjustable rockers or complete rocker assemblies for a 390. I'm not going to any big cam modifications but would like the adjustable gear.
dscmotorsports carries them I was told.
Im saving up for the Erson Roller Rockers
If you find any place that has the stocks ones let me know please.
Goodluck with your project
The crane rockers have had a bad rep in the past for having all different ratios after being checked by a machinist. I would stay with the original ford rockers from DSC or buy an erson setup. Either rocker is strong enough for most any application.
I see the stock Ford adjustables frequently on Ebay. I believe they go for much less than the Ersons ($600+). I have the Ersons, but I've also got another $1200 in the rest of the valve train, running over .600" lift.
Keep in mind when buying used adjustable Ford rockers, that the adjuster screw DO wear out ( or should I say in) they work with an interference fit thread and if they've been adjusted too many times, they get loose and the screws or rockers will need to be replaced. PAW used to list stock types with lock nuts n the screws but the last catalog I've got is several years old and even then they listed at nearly $11 each. Also keep in mind the added cost of the push rods to go with them.
