striker plates

Does anyone know if a '56 striker plate will fit on the '53-'55 models? The '56 is a bit thicker. I could go out and try it but it is too cold right now. has anyone used a '56 for a '53-'55?

Hi

In Bob Drakes catalog they list the door stricker plates and the door catch and lock assembly for 1953 thru 55 as one and the same. 56 in both cases is listed as a one year only. I am not sure what the differance is but you don't want the door coming open when you turn a corner it's not a good feeling (my 54 merc car did that).

The stricker plates are listed at $20.00 but his shipping is high.

Just checked Mid Fifty they list them the same as Drake except they are $18.50
