I recently purchased a 1996 e350 cutaway with a 7.3 powerstroke and have found that the heater blows cold air and the temp. gauge barely moves even after running for two hours. Motor appears to run well but simply does not register temp on the guage. Any suggestions on what to look for would be welcome.
A good way around the thin walled housing problems (coupled with the spout that is way too easy to pull at angles with) is to buy a large donut gasket to put in. I used one about 3 times original size. The round flat wimpy gasket that specs call for (at least for a 95) will leak even with RTV sealant if you have pulled, wrenched, etc to get the housing off and done some damage. A lot of RTV will work but not a good idea in this spot. The donuts are only $2 or so dollars.
