I have a 1979 Ford F-350 with a 460ci and a 8-71 supercharger
and Triple predetor carbs installed my axels are 2-1/2 ton Rockwell 6x6 thay came of a duce& a half Military truck my question though is, is it posible to get 4wheel steering from these axels my trucks current turining circle is close to 75-80 feet round its HUGE!!!!! I need a tighter circle becus this is also my daily driver.
Wait a minute. What's with all the power, or torque? What size tires do you have, 64" tires? It sounds like you're mediocre in between a monster truck and very big truck. I'd love to see a picture.
Sure it's possible, just get another 2 1/2 ton fron axle and install it in the rear of your truck. Do you already have hydraulic steering on the front? If so, it would be quite easy to add rear steer to you system. The only problem I see with rear steer on the street is that it would tend to very dangerous at highway speeds. I think you'd have to find a way to lock the rear from steering at highway speeds and only have 4 wheel steer in town. Also, please make a gallery so everyone can see your truck, it sounds awesome
Triple predators?!?!? Holy crap! I'm all for excessive horsepower, but good grief. And in a daily driver!! This guy's out of his mind, and I like it!! Rear wheel streering is possible in anything, it's just going to be big$$$$. And do it safely. Go check out the scary steering site, it really is scary what some people are driving down the road with. I don't have the link, but it's worth looking for.
