My Ncreen Name says it all i am a man with a problem
I have a 1997 f 150 2wd 6cyl my son managed to get it stuck in a few feet of snow with only two wheels on pavement so his friends father decides that it can be towed out from the front and hooks a tow cable up to a box presumably aluminum and rips it off red fluid flies and well the truck is still there, so the question is what is the little box behind the grill that contains red fluid by little i mean about the size of a size 9 mens shoe maybe smaller hopefull some one can help me and i appreciate all that at least read the post and admit that they dont know what i am talking about because i have given few details which is all i know
Thank You again
Ouch! I agree with AwesomeBullet. People are starting to find out that you just can't put a tow hook wherever you want. I will usually look a vehicle over before putting a hook on it. If I can't find a area that I can hook unto without ripping something off (or even bending something), I'll decline.
While the dad was well meaning, he is responsible for the damage done.
This sounds like one of those situations where there might not be a right way to do things. The person that did the damage should be responsible but he did probably save the cost of a tow truck and was just trying to be helpful.
