Reverse alarm and Overdead Trip Computer sporadic operation
 I have a 2001 limited edition excursion, 4x4 V-10.
The Backup alarm has stopped working. I can push the button so that the off lamp is not illuminating, but as soon as I put it in reverse, the off lamp comes back on, and of course I dont get an audible reverse tone.
I also have a very sporadic operating Trip Computer (overhead console). It usually starts working after i have been driving for several miles, or it may work to start with, then go out later.
The reason i mention both of these in the same forum, is that they are on the same fuse.??? I sthis a coincidence? i have changed the fuse.
Please advise.

same problem here
I had to disconnect my reverse sensor speaker when I was plowing the other day. I think the sensors got iced over b/c everytime I put the truck in reverse the sensors would go off. It was terrible! I followed the sound to the back of the truck and unplugged the speaker. I'm not even sure that I'm going to hook it back up b/c it's been a pain for me. Good luck!

Hi Cterry:
You surely are aware that there is a reverse sensing shut off switch located on the dash. Why not use it instead of disconnecting the beeper, I do when towing, works well. Or, do you have an aftermarket back up alarm? THAT will drive you and your neighbors nuts; makes the Excursion sound like agarbage truck when backing.
