I know a lot of you out there will swear by the Bridgestone Revos. I was wondering if any of you have used the Pirelli Scorpion A/Ts and what your thoughts were about them. It's not time to replace the skins quite yet, but I'm just thinking ahead. At $20 cheaper per tire on tirerack.com it's an avenue that deserves some consideration.
Several independent tire tests rated the Pirelli Scorpions highly a year ago, but they were not then available in the 17" size. Upon closer inspecition, i noted that that the sipes do not go all the way through the tread, and owners told me the noise level increases with age. They may be good. LIke the BFGs. But why not get the best? Your money and your life is riding on them! A few bucks saved in purchase will be poison to you when you don't get the all round performance we do with Revos.
I put them on my 97 EB about a month ago and have no complaints. Noise is minimal, have had any snow to speak of yet, but they seem pretty good in the mud.
Check some local places for prices too. I found a local guy that sold me REVO's for $125 each out the door. That price included mounting, balancing and since I paid cash, the tax was included
