The point is, The Democrats have held the White House for the 8 years with Bill Clinton and almost had it against George Jr. It all depends on who runs against her. After all, she was elected senator of one of the largest states in the country (population).
Hillary appeals to a very small percentage of the American population. Her base is liberal women and blacks. While it might be enough to get her the Democratic nomination, she is unelectable in a national election, IMHO. Her plan for a nationalized healthcare system, for example, cost the Democrats the HR and Senate in 1994. It scared the heck out of a large segment of the American public. Her failure to abide by the Sunshine Law during her preparation of the plan is criminal and will, no doubt, be re-examined should she step into the national spotlight. Her Rose Law firm dealings, FBI files theft and a dozen other events will all be back in the spotlight. Ted Kennedy is able to get re-elected in NY despite his skeletons, but will he run for president? No, his past would haunt him worse than Ebenezer Scrooge's. The same holds true for Hillary. She's safe in the Senate; she becomes fresh meat in the presidential campaign.

I say Jeb in '08. He has the qualities I like about GW and he's much more articulate.

Does anyone truely believe that she can win the office in 2008?

What ever you do…………do not underestimate her

It could be very scary if we do

I don't think so. Looking at the popular vote is very misleading. Nader didn't get enough votes anywhere to change any Electorial College votes; Perot did.

Very true. "Experts" said she could not move to New York and be elected senator and we know how that came out. Also, she will have Bill running her campaign and , like him or not, he knows how to win elections. I may have to register some of my dead relatives to vote against her.

Nader didn't get at least 500 votes in Florida?

I'd hate to see it but the writing is already on the wall for Hillary to run in '08. Just look at the way she is overtly sabotaging the Democratic "candidates" now. It's obvious that she doesn't want a Democratic incumbent. The GOP had better find a strong candidate now to thwart another Clinton terror from befalling the country and plunging us further into socialism.

Well it's not that I want her to get elected in 08, but there are serious problems on the horizon that I don't feel are being addressed. The debt is growing by the day, there are seroius questions being raised about the Iraq situation, I have already heard about abuses regarding the patriot act, many envionment laws are being thrown out the window, nobody is talking about Bin Laden or Saddam being caught, Halliburton, it looks like the worth of the dollor is really going down compared to the Euro, the pro choice folks will soon be going to war with the pro life folks if the courts play with Roe V Wade, 3 million jobs are gone, The Enron scandal has been thrown under the rug along with the Ken Lay scandal.
I honestly don't care who is president as long as he (Or she) is looking after the best intrest of OUR Nation.
I have a list of things that bothered me about Clintion too...(I had SERIOUS problems with some guy with real answers regarding a certian real estate transaction found dead on a park bench for instance) but since he's no longer president...why bother.
I didn't feel that Clinton looked after US and I don't have a good feeling about Bush eather.
It just dosen't seem right to me that all these problems keep poping up no matter who is at the helm.
This is why I feel that there will be a backlash in 08.
I didn't post this to start a flame war and if anybody here is related to Bush or Clinton...I apoligize in advance.
Please try not to be too upset with what I am saying...It's just one guys opinion.
I'll go hide under the fridge now.

a couple things here, polls have consistantly shown Hillary to only be trailing Bush by about 10 points...and she isn't even running. Polls also show that without campaigning she is leading the democratic votes. She would get more votes than Dean, Kerry, or Gephardt...and once again, she isn't running. And just for checking, who is the only president in the last 20 years to balance the budget? I do belive we all know the answer to that.

With Gore endorsing Dean, changes everything in 08.
Dean or Gore will control the D.N.C. The clintons will no longer have the control or money of the D.N.C.
I think Gore will run again in 08.
