My 94 x has intermittent light up the ABS light. It will stay on after the ignition is turned on and won't turn off until I turn off the vehicle again. Sometimes I can start the truck 2 or 3 times in a row and the light will stay on, other times I can turn the truck off and when I turn it back on the light stays off. Anyone else had this problem and were you able to track down the cause? (when this happens I don't get any other error lights)
I just had a very similar proplem in my truck. Have you checked the brake fluid level? Mine looked okay at first glance, pleanty in the reservoir above the min level, but depending on the angle I parked at, it was a tiny bit low. Try topping it up. it might help.
It seems that one of the ABS sensors is acting up. Or its wiring harness, the symptoms are the same.
Try to check wiring harness connectors near ABS sensors. Also you may check the front sensors' resistance. Normally it should be between 1K and 1,4K ohm. Not sure about checking rear sensor (it is located in rear diff).
