Short Bed Swap

I was wondering if you can swap a shortbox fleetside bed onto a truck that currently has a stepside bed?

If so, what other parts may be required? (tailights, wiring ,fuel filler neck, etc.)

if the fleetside is a short box then all you'll need is the bed and new body bolts

i thought about doing the same thing, all you need it the new bed tail lights and fuel filler neck and bolts. but now looking around and seeing all the other fleetsides and seeing how rare stepside where. i will keep mine. i like to be different.

Thanks Texan, I've found a '78 2wd stepside truck and the box is just wasted, but I know where I can get a good deal on a fleetside box that is in pretty good shape. I also already have some spare tailights and a rear bumper, I'm halfway there!!

I just have to decide if I really need another project!!
