ribs on top of SD cab?
I drive with my window open in the rain, snow, etc. Even if it's 15 degrees in a driving blizzard, I'll still blast the heater and open the window a crack. I need some natural, fresh air coming in; otherwise it just doesn't "feel" right. I got the deflecta-shields/vent-visors/ whatever-the-heck-you-call-em's over the windows, and I can open the window a good 1 - 1.5 inches without worrying about water coming in. Very useful for smokers (also useful when a passenger has been eating too many beans...).

Seems we're gettin' off track a bit, and spending far too much time on whether I should roll up my windows or not.
Haroutd, what type of deflectors did you use? I had the "stick-on" style on my old '95 F250, but I understand there is a glueless variety out there somewhere that slides up into the top window track.]

I think we've pretty much beaten the "rib" issue to death, so why not digress on open windows! To answer your question, I bought the "DeflectaShield" stick-on variety. I had them on a vehicle of mine SEVERAL years ago (bought it used, came with the deflectors) and I don't recall ever having a problem with them. I never put too much thought into them; just bought what the local shop had, and am happy with them.
I never saw the glueless ones, but I have seen the "off-road" shields before. They are quite a few inches longer, so you can crack your window open even more & get added protection. I didn't really care for their look, though -- it was a little "too much" for me.
