How Does Your ESOF Work?
[b]Never had a single problem; others may not like it because ESOF isn't "old fashioned" enough for them, but it keeps my shoes clean & hasn't let me down!

Actually haroutd, ESOF probably is a great feature. I just prefer to scale my truck down to the lowest point of failure. Just a throw back from my younger days when I beat these things into submission!
I voted, but i hope I havent just jinxed mysef (throwing salt over my shoulder) so far I havent had any problems, although I do try to make it a point to lock the 4wd in once every month or so in the summer.
Had a GEM module replaced shortly after I got the truck, but otherwise has worked fine. Used it a lot last week picking up a load of Christmas trees in Coshocton, Ohio for the Boy Scouts. My friend swears by his manual, but I'm happy with my ESOF. :-)
I really do not like the set-up at all. I think the vac. system also has a lot to be desired. They went to a lot of effort so the axles would not turn, so it would run free'r. I wish I had a Select Trac type transfer case in it. (2 wheel high, Full Time, Part Time and 4WD-low.) Another thing. I got 4 full loads of fire wood and I need it in 4WD when I get the wood and when I get to the house to back up my driveway. I kept the hubs locked in the whole day. When I made a 90 degree turn it is OK. If I go any further with the turn, it klunkes in the front end like the spider gears are not accepting the wheel speed difference from left to right. This is in a 2002, V-10, auto, SD, super cab, LS rear diff, ESOF with 5,000 miles on it. I work at a Jeep Dealership and if I had a Ford V-10 in my 95 Cherokee, I would pull the throttle body out of my truck's exhaust with the Jeep. 4WD system is much better. Please, don't get me wrong. I love my truck. It pulls our 31' 5th wheel around the country with little or no effort. Also, about 2 months ago I backed up to a lake and really needed 4WD. Not thinking, when I got back into the truck and went to pull away. Still having it in 4WD, the rear tires started spining and the LOAD bang was the vac. hubs pulling themselves in. Should have locked them in. I am rambling. Just my $.02
