Won't Start
I am the unlucky new owner of a 2001 F250 v10 gas Super Dutywit 58000 miles. It has a problem that the previous owner never disclosed, This truck will not start somtimes. Most of the time it will start but randomly it will crank and not fire, try it in 1 hour and it starts and runs fine. It will also start but only idle, touch the pedal and it dies. I have checked the fuel pressure and replaced the Idle control sensor, no improvement. It is now at the dealer for the 3rd time and thier stumped. I have been told to replace the cam position sensor, has anyone had this problem and how was it repaired? Thanks for your help! Mike Nix

A friend of mine's jeep had a cam position sensor go bad...sometimes it would briefly cut out while he was driving down the highway.(kind of funny) Not a ford, but his problem was also intermittent like yours. I don't know if he ever had a problem with it not starting...??? Anyways, check on the price of replacing it, if not too expensive you could try it...unless anyone has a better idea as to what it is. I am not a expert.
