I had to do a quick tow from my marina to my house and then up to the storage lot and I got a "trailer disconnected" message on my display multiple times during that 5 mile tow.
I was wondering if this is related to the PCM update for 26E01. Ideally, it should not be as my truck was not even built until well after the issue was identified, but I guess it's possible.
I had this issue on my 2024 F-350 when towing my equipment trailer earlier this year. It ended up being a bad ground on the back of the trailer where a bolt had come loose. I tightened the bolt down on the side of the road and no issues since. Might be worth starting with the trailer and confirming all of your connections are good.
Did you pick it up out of the water via a ramp? The wiring harnesses at the rear of the truck (by the bumper, above the spare tire) can get water ingress causing odd electrical issues.
As already mentioned, check over your trailer wiring - every trailer I have ever owned seemed like the wiring was designed to fail.

Nope, the boat was in for spring commissioning and general maintenance. Trailer is just a few years old and the wiring was completely re-done last year (worn wiring from the factory, probably 20 miles on the trailer since then). Trailer didn't throw a fault that my older 2011 noticed when I towed it last.
There is a ramp near there (right across the canal), but it's about a mile via the roads. My boat (and trailer) were high and dry and the last rain we had was over a week ago with lots of hot temps since..of course, we had a small cell move through last night (well after the tow), but that only dropped half an inch. Living around here, gotta be able to take a joke of 2-3 inches (or more) of rain per storm.
