F150 tire sizing
I would like to get slightly larger tires but without adding a lift kit.
The largest tire size recommended without a lift is (you guessed it) 275/60R20.
I find this hard to accept. Surely I can get away with slightly larger tires without a modification?
I put slightly larger tires on my 250 20+ years ago with no lift and have used that size ever since.
The system tells me I have too many lines in the signature. I have shortened it to no avail. Others have longer sigs.
I have seen other unlifted F-150s with slightly oversize tires. But they may not have 20" rims
Meets the "slightly larger" specification.
My '17 came with 275/55R20s. I went to 275/60s. I notice but no one else does.
It's not like these trucks are "under tired" like the old days......

If you're deciding between *275/60R20* and *285/60R20*, I'd lean toward *275/60R20* for most F-150 owners.
It stays closer to the factory size, helps maintain speedometer accuracy, and is less likely to cause rubbing issues. The *285/60R20* offers a wider, more aggressive look and a bit more ground clearance, but it's worth checking wheel offset and suspension clearance before making the switch.
For daily driving and highway use, *275/60R20* is usually the safer and more practical choice.

Thanks
275/60R20 is the factory size. I put 285's on my 250 and have had no issues, so I guess maybe I am trying to decide between 275/60R20 and 285/60R20, or the 275/65R20 that 85 suggested.
For some reason Stallion's post does not appear in my thread but it is worthwhile so I copy and pasted it from the email I got from FTE notifying me that Stallion had replied.
I am going to confer with a couple tire shops but I thought I'd check here as well.
